KRIZIA
I've got quite a mix of songs that i've picked for the playlist this month. I've been obsessed with Lo-Fang's slowed down version of 'The One That I Want' since I saw it on an ad for Chanel. I love how sweet but haunting it sounds. 'Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)' by Omi is a song that I randomly stumbled upon a while ago thanks to my friend browsing through Spotify playlists, now i can't go anywhere without hearing it on the radio, I love the chill vibe. 'Shut Up and Dance' by Walk the Moon, 'Heroes (We Could Be) feat. Tove Lo' by Alesso and 'I'm an Albatraoz' by AronChupa are songs that I only heard for the first time on New Years Eve during one of the big NYE song countdowns and they quickly became the songs of the night. 'Don't Matter' by Kings of Leon is an oldie which I completely forgot about until the other day when I was trying to find a good song on the radio, so cheers to Radio Hauraki for bringing this song back into my life. Dorothy's 'Medicine Man' (who I only discovered about 2 weeks ago) is fast becoming one of my favourites, I find it oddly relaxing. 'Rollercoaster' by newish band Bleachers (side project of Jack Antonoff from Steel Train and Fun) makes me want to dance every time I hear it, as does 'I Got the Moves' by Habibi. I'm a huge Vampire Weekend fan and love SBTRKT so of course I love their new song 'New Dorp. New York' featuring VW's front man Ezra Koenig. This next song is another oldie that you can't not have on your summer playlist! 'Like a Lie feat. Helen Corry' is by New Zealand's Jetski Safari, it's such an awesome tune and I guarantee you'll be playing it on repeat. I blame Coldplay's song 'Miracles' for making me cry even more at the end of Unbroken, it's a song they wrote for the movie and it's perfect for the film. Another tear jerker to end my half of the playlist is the new G.R.L track 'Lighthouse', a song they recorded in memory of member Simone who sadly committed suicide last year.

To kick off my half of the playlist is the recent song from Shift Key 'I Know', it was one of those songs that always came on the jukebox at work but I never realised who the artist was or the song, the only thing I knew was that makes me think of summer roadtrips. 'Wish You Were Mine' by Phillip George was a song I came across on facebook when a friend of mine uploaded a summer video and had this as the backing track and since then I've been in love! This is another song that is helping me get pumped for summer (along with a few others on this playlist) and one that makes me wanna get up and dance. Blonde's track 'I Loved You' is just a classic club track that again I didn't realise the name or artist until I was watching one of the music countdowns on telly, but it's one that I've heard countless times in the club and i always get happy when the DJ plays it. When Beyonce dropped '7-11' I rushed home to watch it on Youtube, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that it was all done by a go pro/phone and just proves that if you're Beyonce you can do whatever you like and people will go crazy over it. Whenever I hear this song, no matter what I'm doing I will stop and dance- particularly smacking it in the air. 'Sledgehammer' is the new track from Fifth Harmony following their huge single 'BO$$' to put it simply it's just a really catchy pop song just like the next track 'Lips Are Movin' by Megan Trainor and 'Sugar' by Maroon 5, and lets face it we all know I'm a sucker for a good pop song. After hearing about this band Years and Years, it wasn't until I was driving in my car that I first heard them and their song 'King.' I love it when two types of music crossover and so I love the dance-y backing track with the indie pop alt vocals. 'Popular' by Mika ft Ariana Grande samples the song of the same name from Wicked which I love, and being Mika what's not to love! Wretch 32's song '6 Words' has been a song I've liked for ages but again never knew who sung it or the song name until a friend at work clarified it for me when it came on our jukebox, it's such a sweet song! Despite people having a bit of a strop over Sia's new single and its music video I really love 'Elastic Heart' You keep doing you Sia! And finally rounding off my playlist is the Jonas Brothers with 'Pom Poms' I've been in a real big JoBro mood as of late and this was one of their last singles which I remember at the time of release being a bit underrated, however now I just can't get enough of it!
