Here's Looking to 2015

Posted on Monday, 5 January 2015

Happy New Year!
We're really happy we started this blog at the end of last year, so far it's exceeded our expectations. We weren't too sure how it was going to go down and whether or not it would even work having two creators in different countries, but so far so good!

SOPHIE

2014 was a mixed year of highs and lows for me. The first half of the year was a high, I finished and passed my second year of uni, got to see One Direction (heart eyes emoji), Backstreet Boys, McBusted, Kanye plus loads more with my bestie and co-founder of this blog. We also went to New York for the first time ever, and had a holiday in Nice. However in the second half of the year I had to say goodbye to Kriz which was tough, I also had hardly any money because my uni job closes over summer and I just couldn't find any extra hours to help boost the income up. I started my third and final year of uni which is bittersweet, I also wasn't in the right head space so most of the term was spent figuring out how to get me back on track.

For 2015 though I'm hoping for bigger and better things. I'm graduating uni and have decided to go back to NZ for an extended break as it's been 3 years since I've been back home! I've also got a holiday planned with my friend Jess and talks of going to Bestival with another friend.

Here's my top 3 things I hope to achieve in 2015

1. Read more
I pledge this to myself every year, I used to be an avid reader when I was younger but since the Internet has consumed my waking breath, I don't read as much as I used to. But I want to change that! Maybe i'll set myself a target of designated number of books to read by the end of the year?

2. Healthy mind, healthy body
Again another resolution I see myself making, but I feel I've gotten to the point where I can only feel down about myself for so long and I think getting into shape and being fit and healthy will help that. I also want to focus on me this year and work on getting me (emotionally and mentally) back to a place where I'm happy with my life and myself.

3. Say YES more
As it's my last year of uni I want to live it to the fullest and have no regrets of "oh I wish I'd done that". So to take inspiration from the movie Yes Man I'm gonna try and say YES! more often. Obviously it's ok to take a bit of time for yourself, but after spending Christmas break back at my boyfriend's/where I used to live, I realised I had lost touch with a lot of people and because of that spent a lot of time watching Netflix. I want to rectify that by being more sociable and forcing myself to get out more and experience more opportunities.

KRIZIA
Like Sophie, 2014 was full of highs and lows. I started off the year with my parents visiting my sister and I in London, It was their first big long trip in 23 years and we hadn't seen each other in almost 2 years so it was quite special. I got to meet and visit family that I had never met before, I travelled to some amazing places around the world with family and friends, went to a few amazing concerts, and ticked several things off my bucket list. Then I had to say bye to London and come back home in the middle of the year because my visa was about to end. As much as I do love being home I miss my London life terribly. It took some time to adjust to New Zealand life again, and it was a tough five months of readjusting, reconnecting, and trying to set myself up again. I'm still trying to gather up enough money to move out and i'm still trying to find a full time job in my area of interest, but something will come my way soon!

In 2015 i'm hoping to turn my life around for the better. I've got two possibly three big events I want to be looking and feeling good for. My good friend is getting married in October, she's the first one out of our group of friends to walk down the aisle so that's something i'm looking forward too! I'm also thinking of moving to Australia. 2015 is the year of the goat, which is my year so i'm hoping this brings me nothing but good things.

My top 3 things I hope to achieve in 2015

1. Sort my life out
By the end of 2015 i'm hoping i'll be happy with my job, in my own home/flatting, own my own car. Basically living comfortably and independently and like a real adult.

2. Occupy my time in different ways
It's so easy for me to just play on my phone, watch TV, and sit with my laptop all day if I have nothing else to do. I want to change that this year and hopefully get back in to some type of sport, read more, maybe get into arts and crafts, and just spend more time outside in the fresh air than being a hermit.

3. Get healthy
This is always on my list but this year I truly feel like this is it. Before December I was doing really well for about a month and then all the Christmas festivities began and I just couldn't control myself and didn't hit the gym once. But now that I've seen results and know I actually can achieve results from working out and eating healthy i'm more determined than ever to get fit.

LGC
After having a Skype conrsation we are super excited for 2015 and the changes in store for LGC!
We're wanting to up our content and revamp our look. We're hoping to bring in more readers and establish ourselves in the blogging community. We also might look into crossing channels with vlogs. We have a lot of ideas swimming around in our heads for this year and we can't wait to show them to you.

Do you have any resolutions?
