X Factor: One Way Ticket to Bootcamp!
Posted on Monday, 22 September 2014
Arena auditions are now over and it's time to head to BOOTCAMP this week. Here's how the last weekend of auditions went down.
Saturday:
First up was the modern day Marilyn and 'posh' gal Chloe Jasmine. Her arena audition transported us back to the jazz era and was more likeable than her first...we hate that she's starting to grow on us! She sailed through to bootcamp with four yeses. Fleur East seemed much more in her element on stage than in a room. She has a lot of funk and great style but we're hoping to hear a stronger voice at bootcamp. Next up was Cheryl's favourite, Raign. If she wasn't an obnoxious diva she could actually have the potential to do well. We think she'd be better suited on Eurovision than X Factor and we're a bit nervous that with three judges support Simon could take her to judges houses as part of his top 6 overs. Emily Middlemas and Stephanie Nala followed with their cute little auditions but the stand out was shoe shop worker Kerrianne who sung an amazing version of 'I Know You Won't' by Carrie Underwood which got her an easy four yeses. Duo Major failed to impress anyone with their terrible performance of 'I Love It' by Icona Pop. We didn't see their first audition and have no idea how they made it to this stage nor do we care because we didn't love it at all. Things turned sour when the judges sent home mum of two Michelle who was unnecessarily over the top with her voice which ruined her chances of heading to bootcamp and she was NOT happy with their decision. Kitten (minus The Hip) Scarlett Quinn who ditched her husband and singing partner to get to arenas seemed a bit lost on stage. Although her audition wasn't as good as her first she made it to bootcamp. Last up was Ben Haenow whose won us and the judges over with his awesome rock voice.
Sunday:
US Air Force cadet Charlie Martinez was first up on Sunday wowing the audience with his rendition of 1D's 'You and I'. We would be quite happy if he wanted to serenade us all day here at LGC HQ! Party girl Ten was up next where she seemed to be a tad all over the place and did a lot more screeching than singing... perhaps she should turn up to auditions after a night out more often? Janet Grogan stepped up to the stage next and with her beautiful husky/soulful voice she won the judges over once more with her rendition of the classic U2 song 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For', she is definitely one to watch and it seems the Overs are not a group that will be disappointing! The boys weren't to be out done with young lad Charlie Jones transforming 'Wannabe' into his own, Tom Mann returning to our screens and winning us over once more with another classic pop song 'I Want It That Way' and Jake Sims inserting that pop punk edge that we feel has been missing in this singing comp! Jordan Morris has us divided here at LGC, I guess bootcamp will be his last chance to impress. Carer and mum Helen Fulthorpe blew us all away with her voice and we have to say we are thanking her kids for making her enter. Hopefully see you at the Live Rounds Hel!! Scunthorpe local Jake Quickenden graced our screens next where he gave us another emotion filled performance of Jessie J's 'Who You Are'. Closing up Sunday and the last of the arena auditions was fish monger Lola Saunders after getting caught up in her emotions on stage and getting a hug from Mel B she showed us why she was there with her soulful moving voice. We would say she has a strong contention for making the top 12 and she was our fave of the night. Although we feel she does need to control her emotions and not let them get to her but to use them more in her performances. Guess we'll find out everyones fate next week when we head to bootcamp and the dreaded seating round!

Ten should go, she's totes annoying, but I liked the Arctic monkeys guy! He was heaps different to all the others. Lola is my fave so far, such personality within her. Helen was super good!
ReplyDeleteCharlie Martinez can raid my base any day, goddamn.
