X Factor: It's the Final Countdown!

Posted on Monday, 29 September 2014

It was an intense three nights of bootcamp but we finally have our top 6 contestants from each category! read all about the performances, drama, and tears after the cut!

Friday night saw the girls battle it out for a seat in Cheryl's top 6. We didn't agree with everything Cheryl did, how could she not give Monica a seat!?!? and as much as we love Lola we think she completely stuffed up this time as her nerves took over, we're not sure if she could handle the pressure of live shows. But we were quite happy with Cheryl's final decision for her girls. But what was that new 'no swapping out under 16's' rule? super unfair! same rules should apply to everyone don't you think? One of the biggest twists of the night was the last minute return of Chloe Jasmine who was swapped out for Chloe O'Gorman who was then swapped out for Lauren who we think should have swapped out with Steph. Unfortunately her return (to add versatility) meant that it was the end of the road for Orla.
We thought Cheryl was tough, but she was nothing compared to Mel B, infact we thought she might have been a tad too harsh...especially to some of the first couple of boys. We were super glad Andrea and Paul got through to Judges Houses (although it was obvious that they would). Jake delivered another emotional performance that had us a bit teary eyed and has him fighting for LGC's  3rd place hopeful. We were super pleased to see Jack back, and once again he wowed us and the judges with another amazing rendition of Shaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody". We enjoyed Hayden's performance but felt that as soon as he had made it clear that he didn't care who he was swapped with, just as long as it was not with Charlie Brown, sealed Charlie's fate with the seats. Shock exit was Charlie Martinez, BIG mistake there Mel, we would have defo kept him in and swapped Danny or Jordan out (sorry boys).
Saturday saw the Overs vying for a seat in Simon's top 6. Our hearts went out to Scarlett Quinn when she bombed her audition as she let the pressure get to her and she forgot her words...bless her. Ben was one of the firsts to nab a seat which was only fair after his stellar rendition of Hotel California! Raign graced the stage again and managed to keep hold of a seat before Simon swapped her for Fleur (go on Fleur!), we also have to mention the wicked stare off between Raign and Cheryl as she left the stage! Stevi brought a bit of sunshine to the room declaring he's had the time of his life (haha apologises for the pun) but when it comes down to it we would have swapped him out for Helen so that Janet could have stayed. Lizzy performed the same song as Raign, the only difference was that Lizzy didn't make our ears bleed. However she was the first option to be swapped for Helen (as much as we like Lizzy we also equally liked Janet so we're not too happy with Simon over his choices). Jay managed to shift the mood in the room when he sang Leona Lewis' (re: Snow Patrol) hit song "Run" (even we at LGC got caught up in the mood shift) and we are very happy he made it into the top 6.
It was battle of the bands last night, literally, as Overload refused to leave without a fight after being swapped out for Only The Young. To spice things up Cheryl requested the Pow Pow Girls to join the sing off between Overload and the new girl band, who were swapped out for Blonde Electric as the two sisters were just about to leave to be swapped out for Concept (we were shocked, as were the audience and we feared for Louis' life at this point!). But we're happy with Louis' final decision to keep the new girl band, for only being together for 3 hours they did pretty well! but he should've kept Overload too and taken out one of the duos! We're not too sure what to think of the new boyband either, we love that some of our favourite boys were given the chance to come back with the band (yay Reece, Tom, Jake, and James!!!) but 8 boys is just too much...this isn't South Korea, nice for the visual senses but not sure how 8 boys would work well on stage at live shows.

LGC's ideal Top 12
Kerrianne
Lauren
Chloe/Emily
Andrea
Paul
Jake/Jack
Ben
Helen
Jay/Lizzy (or Stevi for a laugh)
Only The Young
Concept

Who are you hoping to see at live shows?

S. & K.
