X Factor: Live Show 7

Posted on Monday, 24 November 2014

This week saw the X Factor contestants sing songs from Elton and Whitney...See how well they fared and who tanked it big time!
We also had a double elimination this week who will stay and who will go?
BOYS:
Andrea
Andrea's performace of Whitney's classic song "I Have Nothing" was once again flawless, we're seriously finding it hard to fault this pug loving Italian. Each week it just seems it's further showcasing that this is what he should be doing for a living!

GIRLS:
Lauren
Singing a classic Whitney song that she sung before at the arena audition was a safe choice for Lauren this week. We loved that she changed certain things in the performance to show how she's grown so far in the competition and she even went back to dancing which was a lot better than her dancing in the 'Dark Horse' performance.

OVERS:
Stevi
We were seriously confused at LHC HQ about Stevi's performance this week. We love this classic Elton John song but aren't too sure how the Egyptian theme fits in. Stevi's classic moves made an appearance but we just weren't feeling it this week. Maybe this week will be the end of the road for Stevi?

Ben
Ben's song choice was an interesting one and not a song we've heard a man attempt to do. It was a risk doing Whitney's EPIC song "I Will Always Love You". Krizia however agreed with the judges about how this is such a classic song so you don't really want to change it up too much, however Sophie absolutely loved Ben's version. Either way it was still a strong performance for this Croydon driver.

Fleur
Fleur is looking to be tough competition and smashing through every week with her performances.  She was absolutely channeling the sass queen Whitney in her performance of "I'm Every Woman"... She's showing us that she has the entire package and we don't mind it!You go Girl!

GROUPS:
Only The Young
We were really excited to see this performance once we found out the group were performing their first audition song by Elton John again. We fell in love with the group when we first saw them perform 'Something About the Way You Looked Tonight' in front of the judges but it was disappointing to see that they didn't change much, and it was no where near as exciting as when we saw them for the first time.

Stereo Kicks
Our boys have come SUCH a long way since their first performance. The group looked so much more relaxed and like they had been performing together for years. It was nice to hear longer solos from some of the boys who don't get as much time to shine, and leading man James was sounding better than ever, as were the harmonizes.

ELIMINATED
Saturday nights elimination saw us say goodbye to Only The Young. As the competition progressed so did our dislike for the band, but we're sure they'll still continue to work hard and eventually get a record deal. As the judges said there's definitely a gap in the market for a group like them. Sunday night's elimination saw one of the best singers face one of the worst (sorry Stevi) in the sing off. Our favourite Italian Andrea found himself in the bottom two (What the hell!). Both acts sung really well, we don't know how Stevi manages to sound semi decent in his sing offs but he's surprised us both times. However Simon was the only judge to save his own act which meant Stevi's time on the X Factor was finally up!

There are only five acts left and now the competition is really starting to heat up! Who do you think will make the top 3?
