Friday Film News!

I'm really really really unsure how i feel about The Craft, one of my favourite movies, possibly being remade. Sony have reportedly given newcomer Leigh Janiak permission to write and direct a remake of this 90s cult classic!
The live-action movie is based on the popular 80s tv series, unfortunately it is nothing like the beloved show. Fans have been left disappointed from the trailer, and rightly so, this looks more like something i'd stumble across on the Disney Channel, it is definitely made for an entirely different audience.
For those of you who may have been living under a rock for the past few weeks, filming for Suicide Squad is well underway! From left to right- Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Cara Delevingne who looks unrecognisable as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Headshot, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo. Missing from the photo is Jared Leto as the Joker who you can see here , he kind of looks like a member of a band you'd see on Warped Tour, but i'm excited to see his portrayal!

In other news:
- The first look of the brand new Spider-Man will be in Captain America: Civil War, which has already begun filming. The two young actors fighting for the role are supposedly Asa Butterfield (Hugo & Ender's Game) and Tom Holland (The Impossible). But now there are rumours floating around that the part has in fact gone to Asa!
- Samuel L. Jackson is the first actor to officially join the cast of a remake of the horror flick The Blob. Which in a nutshell is about an alien blob-like creature that terrorizes a town.
- Speaking of remakes, here's a couple of classics that are also set to be revamped: Tim Burton is returning to Beetlejuice, Warner Bros. are working on a follow up to The Goonies and a remake of The Gremlins. Stephen King's It is also going to be shot this summer with Will Poulter (The Maze Runner & We're The Milers) set to play Pennywise! Not sure how i feel about this casting either...
- James McAvoy has shaved his head for X-Men: Apocalypse, and still looks ridiculously good looking, check it out here. There may also be a new X-Men spinoff titled The New Mutants with Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) set to direct.
- Justin Bieber has apparently landed himself a role in the new Zoolander movie playing himself.
- J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them is set to be released at the end of next year, and Eddie Redmayne has apparently been offered the lead role of Newt Scamander.
- The are two Star Wars spinoffs in development, one being Star Wars: Rogue One which will be released a year after The Force Awakens and set between the events of Episode III and IV. Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) has grabbed herself a lead role, and Diego Luna (The Book of Life) has reportedly grabbed himself the other lead alongside her. There is no official word on what the second spinoff will be about, but rumour is that it will feature a young Han Solo, and that Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service, which is also getting a sequel!) is being eyed for the role!
What movies are you looking forward to?
